System Requirements

In order to use the Service, your computer must meet the following minimum system requirements.
Minimum System Requirements:

• PC running Windows Vista, XP, 2000 (with SP2)
• 300 MHz processor
• 128 MB RAM
• 10 MB free disk space on your hard drive
• Sound Card
• A USB VoIP telephone (corded or Cordless)  or a headset   or  a ATA Device attached to your normal telephone line if you have a SIP telephone connection from your local telecommunication provider.
• Internet Connection broadband: Cable, DSL, with minimum 64 kbit/s up/downstream)

However, in order to take advantage of all of the advanced features of the RAM Telecoms VoIP Systems and to experience the best sound quality possible, we highly recommend the following configuration.
Recommended System Requirements:

• PC running Windows Vista, XP, 2000 (with SP2)
• 1 GHz processor
• 256 MB RAM
• 30 MB free space on your hard drive
• Full duplex sound card (most sound cards made after 1998),
• A USB VoIP telephone (corded or Cordless)  or a headset   or  a ATA Router Device attached to your normal telephone line if you have a SIP telephone connection from your local telecommunication provider.
• Cable, DSL or equivalent broadband connection to Internet

The soft-phone is free to download and you can always get the latest version here. If you have any problems using RAM Telecoms Soft-phone, please first make sure that you are using the most recent version of the soft-phone.
To download the RAM Telecoms Soft-phone to your computer, simply do the following

1. Click the download link.
2. Click on "RUN"
3. The soft phone opens automatically when you switch on your computer
4. If you have switched off the soft phone - Double click on the Icon of RAM TelecomsPhone that is installed on your Desktop
5. Log in with your User ID and Password
6. Dial the number you wish to contact anywhere in the world and your call is placed

The first time you start the RAM Telecoms VoIP Soft-phone, you will be asked to choose a User Name and password. The User Name and password fields are required in order to use the RAM Telecoms Soft-phone. You will be issued a User ID and a PIN, by RAM Telecoms when you register for the Soft-phone.

For a call to any regular or a mobile telephone anywhere in the world, enter the desired number in the textbox and click the green dial-button. 
Please note that when you call a number (even if it's local) you should always dial 00 + country-code + area-code + subscriber-number)

To get the best possible sound quality, we highly recommend you try the following:

• If using a headset, it is recommended to be one with a built in microphone. Headsets are available for purchase at most computer retailers and will dramatically improve sound quality.

If you don't have a headset, you are still likely to improve sound quality if you:

• Use headphones instead of your computer speakers
• Try moving the microphone closer or further away from your mouth to adjust better quality
• Use an external microphone (note that most laptops use low-quality microphones)
• Update your soundcard drivers
• If using a USB phone device, make sure you get one of a good quality

RAM Telecoms is divided into several tabs, each with a specific purpose.
The Contacts Tab (to the right of the dial pad) shows the number that you have added to your Contact List.
Right click in the Contact Contact list to add a Contact's details
To call the contact person, Right Click on the contact's name and then click "Call"
You can double-click any User Name in your Contact List in order to manage or change detials of the user in your Contact List.
The Dial pad Tab shows you a graphic representation of the buttons you find on any ordinary phone, and they work accordingly.

There are several ways to call with RAM Telecoms Soft-phone:

• If using your normal land line with the ATA Device, use your telephone apparatus normally
• If using a USB VoIP telephone connection from your computer,  follow the instructions that came with your apparatus
• If using a headset, from the textbox, enter the desired phone number and click on the Green Button.
• Right click a User Name in your contact list, and click on "Call"
• Use the dial-pad to make a call just like you do on a regular phone.
• Or use the keypad on your PC.

Please note that when you call a number (even if it's local) you should always dial 00 + country-code + area-code + subscriber number.
